Why I am starting mediagentic.

Twenty years in agencies taught me one simple thing: we do not bill clients for what they actually want to buy. An advertiser buys an idea, a judgement, a decision — and, in the end, a result. What we bill them for is something else: hours, amends, clicks inside platforms, a commission on what they spend. The invoice describes how the machine runs, not the value it produced.

I have watched that gap from every seat I have held. Client-side, where I was the one paying those invoices. Running a global account, where execution took dozens of people across dozens of markets. Running an agency, where my best experts spent their time on campaign set-up and reporting rather than on the thinking clients had come to buy.

Agents change that equation. Set-up, adaptations, optimisation and reporting go to machines that never sleep, never miss an alert and never forget an exclusion. That is not just a productivity gain: it is a guarantee of consistency, and above all a way back to billing for what genuinely carries value — strategy, arbitration, decision.

One conviction twenty years of campaigns have never contradicted: the first lever of efficiency is not targeting, it is the creative. A good message poorly distributed still sells; a poor message perfectly targeted sells nothing. Which is why media cannot be optimised after the fact, once a month, in a review meeting: it has to be optimised natively and continuously, at the pace at which creative wears out.

The context makes that urgent. AI has collapsed the cost of producing an ad, and feeds are filling up with content that is competent, smooth and interchangeable — the AI slop we are all swimming in. Producing a thousand variants costs nothing now; knowing which ones say something, and cutting the rest within hours rather than weeks, is the real work. That takes two things at once: a machine that optimises relentlessly, and someone whose job is to decide.

That is what I am building with mediagentic: an expert who builds the plan, agents that run it continuously, a flat fee with no commission and no billable hours. For the small and mid-sized companies and the start-ups that never had access to people like me, because their budget could not justify hiring them.

Over 20 years of transformations.

Digital specialist, and an enthusiast of technology and AI. I have run agencies, advised marketing leadership and handled prestigious accounts across every kind of industry.

I started out in a web agency, where I learned the fundamentals of digital marketing and built intermarche.com — a single site that brought together the corporate pages, the store pages, the weekly catalogue and e-commerce. I then joined Pixmania.com, at the time Europe's leading online retailer of consumer electronics: I created one of the first agencies dedicated to e-commerce on the market, rolled out the marketplace business, and spent five years as marketing director and a member of the executive committee. That experience took me to Omnicom, where I led the Nissan account across EMEA for nine years: I built a full Precision Marketing programme and set up Nissan United, a dedicated unit bringing together data, creative and media. I went on to become Managing Director of OMD in France, advising major French and international advertisers on their media strategy.

I then spent a year working independently, in operating roles rather than advisory ones: Global Head of Media & Advertising at Europcar Mobility Group through the pandemic, and setting up the data and performance transformation programme at Biocodex. I joined WNP in 2021 as Vice-President and Managing Partner, helping brands transform their marketing through data, content and technology. I brought the agency back to breakeven after three years of losses and led its sale to Anomaly. Today, I am starting mediagentic.
